A C19th Pembrokeshire pine box settle in its original, vibrant red paint.
Of typical design for the region with a good rake, four panel high back, low arms with turned uprights, the box seat opening to reveal a vacant interior for storage.
Lovely wear to the back and foot panels from sitters over the years. Label to the interior for Hubert Vaughn Thomas, cabinet maker, of Market Street, Narberth. Recently removed from a farm in rural South Pembrokeshire where it had likely spent all of its life since being purchased from Mr Thomas.
Welsh, c1880.
