About

My name is Rob Bellis and I’ve been a collector of old and interesting things for as long as I can remember.

Much of my childhood was spent visiting museums and stately homes, reading books on antiques and looking for unusual items in local auction houses and
antique shops.

I was always fascinated by objects from the past, how they were made, their social context and how details could reflect, not just changes in fashion, but also specific events in history.

In 2011, with a little encouragement from family and friends, I quit my former career as a print journalist and opened my own antique shop in our hometown
of Llangollen in North Wales.

That first shop was rather small. It was known locally as ‘The Nook’ so we called the business ‘Nook Antiques’.

Over the past decade or so the business has grown steadily and today our customers include private clients, well known interior designers and, of course, our friends the trade.

Now situated at 10 Bridge Street, Llangollen, Nook Antiques offers a variety of wares that typically includes Welsh and English vernacular furniture and folk
art, country house furnishings and a selection of curiosities and decorative items.

Visit us in person or browse a selection of our stock right here.
