An impressive Ottoman Empire desk c1895.
Profusely inlaid with carved details to the drawer fronts and decorated to all sides.
A real statement piece, perhaps imported, at the end of the C19th, by a London store such as Liberty.
Overall condition is excellent.
It has had some historic woodworm, predominantly to the underside, which has been treated as a precaution. Those holes that were visible on the top have been colour match filled in a professional restorers workshop.
There are a couple of small ink marks on the top but not offensive.
Measurements: W: 47” (120cm); D: 27” (69cm); H: 31” (80cm) to writing surface, gallery top an extra 16.5” (42cm).
