Medina

A fine and unusually large C19th folk art shadow box diorama depicting a four master barque in open seas.

The pennant is a little hard to decipher but it appears that this is a depiction of the Medina, a ‘West Indiaman’, built in 1811, which later became a convict ship.

Measurements: W: 36” (92cm); H: 25.25” (64cm); D: 9” (23cm).
