Margaret Cooper’s Recipe Book

An exquisite C18th handwritten recipe book by Margaret Cooper, dated 1750.

A beautiful and fascinating historical document containing a plethora of recipes or ‘receipts’ of the period including cowslip wine, ‘Queen’s cake’ and many more, as well as pickling advice and how to make preserves such as damson, charmingly referred to as ‘damasells’.

In good original condition with marbled paper cover and a lovely loose leaf recipe for a lemon ‘chees’ cake.

Measurements: H: 8.25” (21cm); W: 6.75” (17cm).
