George VI Coronation Chair

A limed oak chair made for the coronation of King George VI at Westminster Abbey in 1937.

Attendees were invited to purchase their chair after the ceremony. They are often found in hallways and on landings of British country houses and this characterful example has been well used over the past nine decades.
