A rare, C18th carved and polychrome painted mirror frame with a wonderful, early, foxed, mercury glass plate, c1760.
A plethora of carved details including various scrolls, grape bunches, scallop shell, flowers and foliage.
The original painted finish includes trompe l’oeil dovetails to the inner frame.
Wear commensurate with age, some losses but nevertheless a beautiful and scarce survivor.
