A mahogany linen press supplied by Christopher Gibbs for the interior he designed at Chilham Castle.
Comprising associated late C18th elements, the panelled doors enclosing a vacant, hanging space with two short and three long drawers below.
Excellent Condition throughout.
Effectively working with a blank canvas, none of the original contents of the castle remaining, Gibbs, together with his partner Peter Hinwood and renowned designer Jane Ormsby-Gore, was tasked by the Wheeler family to transform the interior of a “rambling mansion to a comfortable family home.”
”Their genius was to re-instate and curate a collection which exuded a depth of history and a feeling of having always been there, organically collected over generations.”
