An early C19th iron bound padauk travelling or campaign chest.
Wonderful colour and rich patina, original brass label to the top.
Almost certainly part of a suite purchased in the east, most likely China or possibly India and later brought back to England.
In good order, wear commensurate with age, one iron hoop clasp absent.
