After Guido Reni (Italian, 1575 – 1642) ‘Lot and His Daughters leaving Sodom’
The original work was acquired by the National Gallery in 1844, this C19th oil on board having almost certainly been painted shortly after the acquisition.
The board is stamped to the reverse ‘Brown, 163 High Holborn, London’, and this version has been previously attributed to the Irish history painter Daniel Maclise (1806-1870).
Presented in its original heavy gilt frame, the whole measuring approximately 20 x 22 inches (50 x 56cm).
