A truly exquisite C19th boy’s calligraphy sampler produced by George F Wynn, aged 12, in Brightlingsea, on September 19th 1844.
Beautiful painted illustrations of native birds and a farmstead to the centre. Foxed and faded but the verses remain legible and the coloured illustrations vibrant. Presented in an equally striking folk art cork frame.
My personal favourite find in quite some time.
